Accomodations:
Cabins have a queen bed, 2 twins in a loft, and a twin futon – room for up to 5. The loft does have a low ceiling and access is by ladder, so please keep this in mind when booking.
Kitchenette includes a full size refrigerator and microwave (with convection and air fry capabilities), and is fully stocked with plates, bowls, glasses, silverware, etc.
Bathroom has a 3ft x 3ft shower and stocked with towels. Beds have all necessary sheets and linens.
We supply the sheets and linens. You only need to bring toiletries and food!
Cost: Free for Veterans with their families!
In order for us to continue offering free stays at the retreat for Veteran families, booking requires a reimbursable deposit. This allows us to store credit card information in case of damages during your stay. If you must cancel, please do so 2 weeks prior to your arrival date to receive your deposit back.
Please review rules and the liability waiver prior to booking a stay: Click Here
Once your stay request has been submitted, we will follow up with you within 72 hours to confirm your dates.
What to Expect:
Upon arrival, one of our volunteers will greet you and help you get settled in. After that, each visit is customizable to your individual needs: we can leave you to enjoy the solitude, reconnect with your family, or we can help arrange activities and excursions. At minimum, we will check in with you daily face-to-face or via phone.
Your confirmation email will provide details of activities available on and off-site. We are a volunteer-run nonprofit and require advance planning for farm tours and local Veteran-led activities. All activities are subject to volunteer availability.
Did you know?
Layout and design recommendations for the cabins were made in partnership with UTC’s School of Interior Design and Architecture’s Fall2024 Responsive Design class. As a senior project, students included general recommendations as well as those most pertinent to the Veteran population such as trauma-informed design. They provided some amazing visuals and we implemented many of their suggestions, including using color theory and natural elements in order to make the cabins a relaxing and therapeutic environment for Veterans.
Special Thanks:
Cabins were made possible by YOU! Through numerous volunteer hours, donations and items sent through the Amazon Registry, the cabins were truly a community effort.
